Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program seeks a Clinician for La Jornada to impact the lives of children and youth in our care. You will collaborate with foster families, youth, and community partners to provide assessments, counseling, advocacy, and stabilization toward safe community living.

You will conduct mental health assessments, provide ongoing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and coordinate with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctorate in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or related behavioral field with clinical experience.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure within 3 years of employment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required.
• Proficient with computers and common software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
• Willingness to work flexible/non-traditional hours including on-call nights/weekends.
• Must be able to travel up to 25–30% to support youth/unification efforts.
• Minimum auto insurance: $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties consistent with NYAP's mission and values.
• Provide trauma-informed mental health services and assessments.
• Deliver on-site child-facing services and counseling.
• Maintain active clinical caseload and meet service delivery thresholds.
• Conduct mental health assessments and provide individual and group counseling; crisis intervention when needed.
• Facilitate family sessions and coordinate with foster caregivers and partners.
• Travel to foster caregivers' homes and community locations as required.
• Complete documentation and required training in a timely manner.
