Job summary

Metro Therapy, Inc. in New York is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences for children in school or preschool settings.

You will work with individual students or groups on daily programs and projects under teacher direction, provide feedback to help tailor learning experiences, and assist with preparing materials and lesson plans. A high school diploma and a Teaching Assistant Certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Active Teaching Assistant Certification is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in child care, child development, or education.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences for children in the school or preschool setting.
• Work with individual students or groups of students on daily programs, special instructions, and projects under the direction of the teacher.
• Provide feedback and information to the teacher about students that will assist with the development of appropriate learning experiences.
• Assist in preparing lessons, materials, and instructional information including but not limited to art supplies, worksheets, educational games, and lesson plan support.
• Help to maintain an organized classroom environment by managing student behavior, implementing classroom rules, and supporting transitions between activities.
