Job summary

Birch Family Services in New York seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support instruction and interdisciplinary teams in achieving IEP goals. You will assist with daily programming, organize the learning environment, and contribute to team planning and open communication.

Responsibilities include supervising the class during brief absences, maintaining compliant records, and participating in team and school activities. A high school diploma and NYS TA certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; NYS TA certification preferred.
• Experience with IEP-driven instruction and early learning is a plus.
• Ability to follow Teacher guidance and model classroom expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher in daily program planning and instruction.
• Supervise the class when the Teacher is away and support behavior management.
• Maintain documentation and assist with regulatory compliance.
• Participate in meetings and school activities to support student goals.
