Job summary

Metro Therapy, Inc. is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support classroom teachers in school or preschool settings across Long Island and New York City.

The role requires a high school diploma and an active Teaching Assistant Certification; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, and at least one year of experience in child care or education is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences for children in the school or preschool setting.
• Work with individual students or groups of students on daily programs, special instructions, and projects under the direction of the teacher.
• Provide feedback and information to the teacher about students that will assist with the development of appropriate learning experiences.
• Assist in preparing lessons, materials, and instructional information including art supplies, worksheets, educational games, and lesson plan support.
• Help to maintain an organized classroom environment by managing student behavior, implementing classroom rules, and supporting transitions between activities.
