Job summary

EAC Network in Central Islip, NY is hiring a full-time Bilingual Administrative Assistant to support the Suffolk TASC program. The role focuses on coordinating daily operations, handling phones, providing Spanish translation, and performing general office duties.

The ideal candidate has a HS Diploma, 1 year in human services, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A valid driver's license is required and bilingual English/Spanish skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or educational equivalent required; degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year work experience in either human services or alcohol/substance abuse programs required.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must have pleasant phone manner, good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Director and Supervisor in coordinating daily operations of the program.
  • Answer, screen and direct phone calls and perform receptionist function at program office.
  • Provide Spanish translation services for the office as needed including Spanish structured assessments with participants.
  • Perform typing and general office duties.
  • Collect, review and input client admissions, rejections and pending cases into databases and assist Program Director and Supervisor in compiling monthly reports.
  • Oversee office supplies, maintain inventory, prepare purchase orders/invoice for Program Director review and perform administrative duties as needed.
  • Perform prescreening of potential clients and set client intake appointment schedules.
  • Oversee on and offsite storage files.
  • Assist the Case Management Unit with all aspects of case coordination and preparation for monthly audit.
  • Maintain Audit Log.
  • Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
