Job summary

Tarrant County Elections Department seeks a bilingual ADA program coordinator to ensure compliance with state and federal language access and disability laws. You will develop Spanish or Vietnamese publicity, notices and forms, translate materials, and recruit bilingual election workers.

You will collaborate with community groups, monitor ADA accessibility at polling places, coordinate translation of ballots, and provide training materials to election staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in public or media relations or related outreach programs.
• General knowledge of ADA laws.
• Fluent in English and Spanish or English and Vietnamese, with ability to produce translations.
• Advanced oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications.
• Valid TX driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate compliance monitoring for minority language requirements under the Voting Rights Act and state laws.
• Maintain ADA documentation for polling places and ensure ADA compliance.
• Liaise with community groups and language media; recruit bilingual election officials.
• Maintain bilingual workers database; assist election judges in recruitment.
• Develop procedures for translation of ballots, notices, forms, and announcements.
• Provide training materials specific to each election and assist in ballot proofing translations.
