Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required bilingual endorsements.
• Bilingual certification required for bilingual teaching assignments.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district's curriculum program requirements.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodations for individual needs.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Cooperate with other staff for planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and supervise purposeful assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Assist students in analyzing and improving study methods and habits.
• Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
• Present positive role model for students and support district mission.
