Responsibilities

• Assists the assigned student with self-help and self-care tasks (e.g., moving between rooms, toileting, etc.).
• Performs simple errands for the student (sharpening pencils, carrying lunch trays, etc.).
• Accompanies the student to the office or other areas as needed.
• Builds positive relationships to encourage independence while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Collaborates with staff and participates in professional development related to the assignment.
• Facilitates the integration of the student into the regular classroom.
• Establishes cooperative relationships with staff and supports the student’s behavior and routines.
• Assists with arrival/dismissal supervision and transportation as specified.
