Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Paraeducator in Learning Support for a one-on-one role. The position runs 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, and requires bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.

All applicants must pass the LTI written and oral assessment; successful candidates will receive an additional $1.00 per hour, included in the stated pay rate. This role supports students under the guidance of certificated staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Official transcripts or ParaPro results required.
• Minimum one year of related experience with children preferred.
• Experience as part of an educational team preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classrooms under teacher direction to support goals.
• Provide one-on-one support to students as assigned.
• Assist with data entry, record keeping, and filing.
• Prepare teaching materials and grade worksheets.
• Monitor and manage student behavior and safety.
• Help with field trips and activities as directed.
