Are you a Bilingual HR professional who enjoys balancing employee support, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations? We are seeking a Benefits Specialist / HR Generalist (fluent in English/Spanish) to join a nonprofit organization on Chicago's northwest side. This is a fully onsite role offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on employee experience and organizational success.
Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and enrollment support
Coordinate open enrollment, benefits changes, and vendor communications
Maintain HRIS records and ensure accuracy of employee data
Support employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes
Assist with employee relations, policy administration, and HR compliance initiatives
Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA and other applicable leave requests
Support recruitment efforts, including interview coordination and onboarding activities
Prepare HR reports, audits, and compliance documentation
Partner with leadership on HR projects and employee engagement initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Fluency in English/Spanish languages
3+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on benefits administration
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and benefits regulations
Experience with HRIS systems and benefits platforms
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and employee service skills
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS, or related certification is a plus

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
