Job summary

Hibiscus Children’s Center seeks a capable supervisor to lead Mental Health Technicians in a therapeutic setting. The role focuses on scheduling, directing staff, and maintaining safe, supportive client care in collaboration with therapists and nursing staff.

You will admit new clients, maintain records, coordinate transportation, and ensure medication procedures when needed. The position requires CPR/First Aid, background clearance, and strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• Minimum three years experience with at‑risk children/teens.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Background clearance and drug test required.
• Must be 23+ years old.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs; outdoor work.

POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW:The primary purpose of this position is to schedule, supervise, direct and coach Mental Health Technicians to work with clients in a therapeutic setting and maintain a safe environment.PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Promote the mission, values and vision of Hibiscus Children’s CenterDevelop work schedule and maintain adequate direct care employee coverage to ensure compliance regarding client to staff ratio. Review shift activity schedule for any changes and/or additionsSupervise Mental Health Technicians assigning Technicians to work with clients on treatment plan goals or other activitiesProvide feedback (verbal and/or written) to Technicians regarding good performance and correcting poor performanceMaintain a visible presence and accessibility during the shift to clients and employeesAssigns specific duties to Technicians and follow up to ensure work is completedSchedule activities for clientsMake transportation arrangements, as neededAdmit new clients completing all necessary paperwork and introducing clients to employees and other residentsReview, maintain and updates the daily logbook with pertinent client information.Ensure medical directives are followed and documented as coordinated with the Medical Dispenser or NurseDocuments and recommends solutions regarding staffing concerns, behavioral problems and/or shift difficulties. Contacts Village Program(s) Director regarding specific or non-routine incidents, when appropriatePerforms walk-through prior to the start of shift and communicates concerns with previous shift supervisorConducts a shift change meeting with assigned staff to address concerns.Provides direction and guidance to volunteersCommunicates and documents all necessary information related to clients and forwards information to client’s therapistEnsures that the Village is clean and organized throughout the course of their shiftEnsures that all reports are correct, complete and turned-in signed at the end of the shift.Completes probationary and annual evaluations on timeResponsible for dispensing meds to clients when nurse is not availableThis list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be exhaustive.
