Job summary

Hibiscus Children’s Center is seeking a Fee for Service Therapist to provide child and family therapies in outpatient settings within the community, ensuring Medicaid/compliance. The role requires collaboration with referral agents, documentation, crisis management, and active engagement in VOCA-funded activities.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Social Work and at least two years of relevant experience; supervision requirements vary by licensure and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Work or equivalent from an accredited university in field of human services.
• Two years experience with children with emotional disturbances, abuse or neglect.
• Unlicensed therapists must participate in 4 hours of supervision per month; licensed therapists 2 hours per month unless waived by program director.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy to outpatient clients.
• Complete psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, transfer and discharge summaries per agency policy.
• Maintain VOCA caseload and input daily activity into medical records system (ECr).
• Collaborate with referring agents and community resource staff; liaise with social services, schools, etc.
• Manage behavioral health crisis situations and assess need for higher levels of care.
• Testify in court when needed.
• Complete at least 26 hours of direct client contact per week.
• Complete required annual training (40 hours).

POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW:This position is responsible for providing appropriate therapeutic interventions to children and families receiving services from Hibiscus Children’s Center. Fee for Service Therapists may be assigned to work with outpatient clients in the community.PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure all services provided comply with Medicaid requirements, contract, licensing, and grant agreementsCollaborate with referring agent and appropriate community resource staff (VOCA Funded Activity- Case Management)Complete all client related documentation, including but not limited to, in-depth psychosocial assessments, treatment plan, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, transfer summaries and discharge summaries, in accordance with agency policy (VOCA Funded Activities)Manage behavioral health crisis situations, including assessment for need to be placed in more restrictive environment, such as a crisis stabilization unit or acute psychiatric inpatient care (VOCA Funded Activity- Case Management)Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy to community outpatient clients (VOCA Funded Activity)Identifiy support services needed for successful discharge and transition into next placement (VOCA Funded Activity- Case Management)Act as a liaison with outside social services agencies, schools, and other organizations (VOCA Funded Activity- Case Management)Testify in court, when neededProvide at least 26 hours of direct client contact services per weekMaintain VOCA client caseload in accordance with VOCA budget requirementsComplete time sheets in accordance with VOCA requirementsProvide accurate and timely input of daily activity and associated documentation into medical records system (ECr).Complete required annual training (40 hours)Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Master’s in Social Work (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college, in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or a related human servicesTwo years experience in working with children with emotional disturbances, abuse or neglectUnlicensed therapists are required to participate in 4 hours of supervision per month with licensed practitioner within their field of practiceLicensed therapists are required to participate in 2 hours of supervision per month unless waived by program directorMust be able to travelREQUIRED SKILLS:Ability to work in team environment with diverse employees and client populationUnderstanding of infant and child growth and developmentAwareness of socio-cultural characteristics of clients populationComputer skillsThis list of essential functions is not intended to be exhaustive.
