UAB St. Vincent's is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Aide for the Adult Psych floor (Floor 5) at St. Vincent's East in Birmingham.

The role supports adult and geriatric patients, performing activities of daily living and assisting with therapeutic interventions in a structured, team-based setting. The position requires completing a BLS certification within 30 days of hire and CN A is preferred. A HS diploma or GED with relevant experience is expected, with potential for tuition

Schedule : Multiple Shifts: Full-Time Nights, 3 12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Work Location: UAB St Vincent's East

Our Behavioral Health services at UAB St. Vincent's East include 80 beds for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs. Our dedicated team-based care model provides individualized, compassionate care. We provide a safe and structured environment focused on stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness.

What You Will Do

• Provide direct behavioral health patient care.
• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities. Report any changes in condition and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative relevant experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
