UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in Behavioral Health - Adult Psychiatry on Floor 5 at UAB St. Vincent's East. Role includes comprehensive assessments, care planning, and participation in treatment teams to support stabilization and recovery.

Requires a nursing diploma, Alabama RN license (LAPRN preferred) and BLS within 30 days. 3 x 12-hour shifts with full-time schedule, generous benefits, and opportunities for continued professional growth.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop the nursing plan of care.
• Participate in treatment team conferences and co-lead group therapy sessions as needed.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise nursing plans; collaborate with the treatment team to adjust goals.

Our Behavioral Health services at UAB St. Vincent’s East include 80 beds for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs. Our dedicated team-based care model provides individualized, compassionate care. We provide a safe and structured environment focused on stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness.

Job Description

Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the facility.

• Perform initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. Develop a nursing plan of care consistent with the master treatment plan.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
• Implement nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.
• Evaluate patient's response to interventions and revise nursing plan of care as needed. Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND Required professional licensure at time of hire.
