Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, is seeking staff for Behavioral Health - Geri Psych to provide direct patient care. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, supporting diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and documenting patient behavior for treatment planning.

Schedules include full-time night shifts (3 x 12-hour, 7:00 pm–7:00 am) and PRN day shifts (12-hour, 7:00 am–7:00 pm). Located at UAB St. Vincent's East with generous benefits for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral health patient care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions as part of treatment.
• Observe and record patient behavior and changes; report and help adjust the treatment plan as needed.

Our Behavioral Health services at UAB St. Vincent's East include 80 beds for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs. Job Description

Provide direct behavioral health patient care.

• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities. Report any changes in condition and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Education:
