Job Location

This position will be located at Bellefontaine Habilitation Center in the Behavioral Department, 10695 Bellefontaine Rd., Saint Louis, MO 63137. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Saturday/Sunday off. This position requires working on holidays. May need to flex hours for duties on all three shifts, as discussed with the supervisor.

What you’ll do:

A Behavioral Technician working in the Behavioral Department assist the department with training and follow up training on Behavior Support Plans and assists with behaviors of consumers as needed. This position collects, communicates, and records behavior data during interventions and observations, writes summaries or incident documentation, participates in interdisciplinary team (ID) meetings.This position should be able to model appropriate behavioral intervention strategies for staff during consumer escalations (non-physical and within approved frameworks). These are some of the duties required by this position.


All you need for success as a Behavioral Technician:


  • One or more years of direct care experience implementing behavior support plans.

  • Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

  • Possession of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification from Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to train and maintain Advanced Safety Care training within six (6) months of starting position.

  • Ability to train and maintain Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale within 90 days of starting position.

  • Review and know all SOP Crisis Procedures within 90 days of starting position.

  • Ability to train and maintain Mental Health First Aid training within six (6) months of starting position.

  • Ability to train and maintain Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) training within six (6) months of starting position.

  • Ability to train and maintain Behavior Support Strategies training within six (6) months of starting position.

  • Successfully demonstrate the Essential Skills – BST Skills within one year of starting position.
