BGA Rework Technician: Precision Board Repair

Job summary

AllSTEM Connections, Inc. is seeking an experienced Rework Technician to join the Legacy Engineering team. You will perform board-level repairs, component rework, and mechanical modifications, and prepare for retest on legacy embedded-computer products.

You will own the day-to-day readiness of our BGA rework capability with high-reliability workmanship and strict traceability. You will inspect for defects, maintain process controls, and ensure compliance with approved engineering instructions.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or Associate degree or military electronics training.
• 3+ years experience with electronic assembly and PCB repair (through-hole and SMD).
• Experience with BGA removal, reballing, and thermal-profile execution.
• Proficiency using microscopes, hot-air systems, preheaters, and specialized repair tools.
• Ability to read complex schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs, and dispositions.
• Certifications IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or IPC-7711/7721 are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform board-level repairs and rework following approved procedures and dispositions.
• Own the day-to-day operation of BGA rework capability, including tooling and process controls.
• Maintain traceability for boards and repair cycles, following ESD/safety/quality standards.
