Job summary

The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA seeks a full-time server to provide beverage service in a refined resort environment. The role offers perks such as free admission to Hersheypark, employee discounts, and comprehensive benefits beginning the first day of the next month.

Candidates must be 18+, have prior serving experience, and pass the RAMP alcohol server test during probation. The position is union-based with afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Taking beverage orders from patrons, describing cocktails, transmitting orders to bartender.

• Dispensing bottled beverages, confections, or items on request.
• Returning empty glasses and maintaining clean work areas.
• Serving hors d'oeuvres and snacks at private or catered events.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Taking beverage orders from patrons, suggesting or describing cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, etc., and transmitting orders to bartender
• Receiving and placing beverage orders on a service tray, adding fruits, garnishes, decorations, etc. as required before serving to guests
• Totaling checks and collecting payment for beverages
• Dispensing bottled beverages, confections, or any other item upon the request of the guest.
• Returning empty glasses and maintaining neat and clean work and customer service areas
• Serving hors d'oeuvres and snacks at private or catered parties as requested
• Performing other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or management

Qualifications:

• Minimum age 18 to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Must have verifiable work experience as a server.
• Must be able to pass the accredited alcohol server test (RAMP) within the probation period.

• Must present a neat and orderly appearance and friendly, courteous attitude
• Ability to handle monetary transactions

Job Demands:

• Must be able to work and stand for long periods of time.
• May include some mornings. Mostly afternoons/evenings including weekends and holidays.
• This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which may require evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
