Job summary

The Hotel Hershey is seeking a Part-Time Team Member to greet guests and serve beverages with professional courtesy in designated locations at the luxury resort high atop Hershey. The position emphasizes abiding by PLCB regulations, operating the POS system, preparing cocktails to standard recipes, and delivering attentive, personalized service to guests.

Responsibilities

• Serve and dispense alcohol in line with PLCB regulations at both the bar and poolside locations
• Operate the point of sale system
• Prepare cocktails for guests and servers according to standard recipe
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Ensure bar par is adequate and that the liquor requisition is according to standard
• Receive and store beverage products in a proper and orderly manner
• Conduct monthly inventory
• Ensure that glassware and bar utensils are washed, while adhering to safety standards, and presentable before they are used
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Ensure that all side work assigned is accomplished in a clean and orderly manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

This position is responsible for the professional, courteous greeting and serving of beverages to guests in their assigned location at The Hotel Hershey.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Serve and dispense alcohol in line with PLCB regulations at both the bar and poolside locations
• Operating the point of sale system*
• Prepare cocktails for guests and servers according to standard recipe*
• Assessing customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations.*
• Performing all aspects of opening and closing procedures*
• Ensuring bar par is adequate and that the liquor requisition is according to standard
• Receiving and storing beverage products in a proper and orderly manner*
• Conducting monthly inventory*
• Ensuring that glassware and bar utensils are washed, while adhering to safety standards, and presentable before they are used*
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment*
• Ensure that all side work assigned is accomplished in a clean and orderly manner.*
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass the accredited alcohol server test (RAMP) within the probation period.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience tending bar in a restaurant or lounge setting

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Working knowledge of wines, beers and liquors.
• Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
• Must be able to multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments
• Must have strong interpersonal relationship skills
• Must display a professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines
• Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times
