Job summary

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is seeking a server to provide exceptional cocktail service and guest experiences. You will engage guests, deliver timely cocktails, and support team members in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have knowledge of spirits and cocktails, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to stand for long periods in a busy bar setting. This role requires a professional appearance and teamwork in a venue with a vibrant atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Previous cocktail serving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of spirits, wines, champagne and mixed cocktails.

Job Description:

Servers are responsible for providing superior guest service to ensure that their all guests have an unforgettable experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provides timely cocktail service in a friendly and courteous manner
• Initiates and engages in conversation with all guests in a professional and friendly manner
• Works with a sense of urgency to anticipate customer needs and assist other team members when the opportunity arises
• Communicates with management to rectify any and all customer needs, comments or incidents
• Adheres to all established policies, procedures and guidelines

Qualifications:

• Previous cocktail serving experience preferred
• Must have knowledge of spirits, wines, champagne and mixed cocktails

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation
• Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills
• Requires the ability to work within a team environment
• Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift & to work inside assigned bar area in the venue.
• Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while multitasking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
