Job summary

Rivers Casino Des Plaines is hiring for a Beverage Server on the casino floor. You will provide beverage service to guests, take orders, handle payments, and keep your station clean while maintaining a high level of customer care. The role requires flexibility across shifts and a friendly, professional demeanor.

Experience in gaming or hospitality is preferred. The position is on-site at Rivers Casino Des Plaines with walk-in interview opportunities and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years guest service experience, preferably in gaming/hospitality environment.
• Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds and grip items.
• Must stand/walk long periods and bend/twist while serving cocktails.
• Money-handling experience and basic math skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide beverage service to casino customers efficiently, courteously, and professionally.
• Work all shifts.
• Pick up empty glasses and return to proper area.
• Assist in drink preparation (ice, garnishes).
• Take drink orders, present drinks, handle payments and change.
• Maintain a clean station and perform side work (stock beverages, napkins, etc.).
• Know all procedures and menu items, wine list, and prices.
• Provide prompt, courteous guest service and handle complaints calmly.

Job Function

• Responsible for providing beverage service to all casino customers in an efficient courteous and professional manner displaying a high standard of customer service.
• Must be willing to work all shifts.
• Picks up empty glasses and returns them to the proper area.
• Assists in the preparation of drink orders as required (icing glasses, garnishing drinks).
• Works in assigned area, taking drink orders, presenting drinks to customers, accepting payment and giving change when necessary.
• Maintains a clean station at all times and performs assigned side work duties such as stocking coffee, glasses, cream, sugar, beverage napkins, etc.
• Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
• Ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
• Knows the menu items, specials, and prices.
• Knows current wine list and has an understanding of the different wines.
• Offers assistance to all guests regardless of where they are seated.
• Handles any guest’s complaints or problems in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Ensures thorough communication between shifts.
• Remains up to date on all Departmental Policies and Procedures.
• Complies with all departmental rules, side work assignments, and departmental procedures.
• Performs all other duties specified or assigned.

Job Requirements

• One (1) to (2) years guest service experience, preferably in gaming/hospitality environment.
• Must be able to lift at least twenty (20) pounds at one time and grip necessary items (glasses, pens, pads, garnishments, money, etc.)
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time as well as bend, stoop, and twist while serving cocktails.
• Must have money-handling experience and basic math skills.
• Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and team members.
• Must also possess a cooperative, helpful and friendly nature, and present a neat, clean, well-groomed.
• Must attend and pass Responsible Alcohol Training; must adhere to cut-off procedures.
• Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.
• Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process and maintain all licensing requirements.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
