Job summary

Ema in Chicago's River North is hiring a Restaurant Beverage Manager to support the Sr. Bar Manager and lead daily beverage operations across cocktails, beer and wine.

Requires 2+ years of restaurant management experience; duties include inventory, costs, vendor relations, staff leadership and beverage program changes. Benefits include quarterly bonus, PTO, 401(k) and BCBS health coverage.

Responsibilities

• Manage beverage inventories, cost-outs and pricing with lead role in menu changes; manage beer, liquor and wine vendor relationships; collaborate with Sr. Bar Manager and Sommelier
• Lead pre-shift meetings and oversee line, temperature and cooler checks; supervise closing duties including cashovers and nightly reports
• Organize, run and supervise opening/closing shifts; ensure exceptional guest and employee experiences
• Provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams; foster our Culture of Caring
• Respond to guest and employee needs and feedback promptly
• Assist GM in managing costs, driving sales and achieving financial goals
• Interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop BOH teams as needed
• Perform inventories of food, beverage and supplies; place orders and inspect deliveries
• Promote teamwork across all teams; maintain tact and judgement in challenges with guests, vendors and staff
• Work varied shifts across multiple sites; occasional overnight travel; manual lifting up to 50 pounds
