Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an accomplished Beverage Director to lead a Michelin/James Beard-caliber wine, spirits, and beverage program in Chattanooga, TN. This role requires relocation to the city and a deep passion for exceptional guest experiences.

Candidate must hold Level 2 Sommelier certification with proven leadership in fine dining, wine program management, and staff development. Relocation to Chattanooga is required, with a salary range of $100,000–$120,000.

Qualifications

• Proven beverage leadership experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality.
• Deep knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and food pairing.
• Experience managing beverage purchasing, inventory, pricing, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the complete wine, spirits, cocktail, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage program
• Curate an exceptional wine list and oversee cellar management, purchasing, inventory, and cost controls
• Develop food and beverage pairings and elevated guest experiences
• Train, mentor, and develop sommeliers, bartenders, and service teams
• Build strong relationships with wineries, distributors, importers, and industry partners
• Establish and maintain exceptional beverage and hospitality standards

We’re seeking an accomplished Beverage Director to lead and elevate a sophisticated wine, spirits, and beverage program. This is an opportunity for a hospitality professional who understands the precision, knowledge, and exceptional service expected in a Michelin/James Beard-caliber dining environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop the complete wine, spirits, cocktail, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage program
• Curate an exceptional wine list and oversee cellar management, purchasing, inventory, and cost controls
• Develop food and beverage pairings and elevated guest experiences
• Train, mentor, and develop sommeliers, bartenders, and service teams
• Build strong relationships with wineries, distributors, importers, and industry partners
• Establish and maintain exceptional beverage and hospitality standards

What We’re Looking For

• Level 2 Sommelier certification required
• Proven beverage leadership experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or a Michelin/James Beard-caliber environment
• Deep knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and food pairing
• Experience managing beverage purchasing, inventory, pricing, and profitability
• Exceptional guest-facing communication and leadership skills
• Passion for training, education, and developing a high-performing team
• WSET, CMS, or other advanced beverage certifications are a plus
