Job summary

Ball Corporation in Colorado is seeking a Product Application Innovation Intern for a 10-week program. You will gain knowledge in the development, evaluation, and implementation of ink, coating, and graphics technologies for aluminum beverage packaging, supporting technology assessments, laboratory experiments, competitive benchmarking, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Material Science & Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• At least one year of coursework completed; graduation date December 2027 or later.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Innovative, analytical, and collaborative mindset with curiosity for emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate emerging ink, coating, and graphics technologies through scouting and assessments.
• Research market trends and opportunities for beverage packaging innovation.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept samples for new solutions.
• Assist with laboratory-scale sample prep, testing, and evaluation of inks and coatings.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve technical information organization and searchability.
• Analyze data and communicate findings through reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Attend a professional development week at Ball's Colorado headquarters.
