Ford Energy, a newly formed subsidiary of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, is seeking a Regulatory Requirements Engineer to bridge regulatory codes with the system engineering process, translating UL, IEC, NFPA, NEC requirements into precise engineering specifications for first-pass certification.

This role demands cross-functional coordination with legal, certification bodies, and engineering teams to maintain regulatory matrices and ensure traceability, helping to avoid costly

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years interpreting and implementing regulatory/code requirements in energy, automotive, or industrial products.
• Experience with grid-scale or automotive regulatory frameworks (UL 9540/9540A, IEC 62619/62933, NFPA 855).
• Strong technical writing and requirements management skills (DOORS, Jama, or similar preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret updates to UL 9540/9540A, IEC 62619/62933, NFPA 855, NEC, UN38.3, and regional grid standards.
• Maintain a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction compliance matrix for Ford Energy products.
• Decompose regulatory clauses into atomic, testable engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with legal, certification bodies, and engineering leads to ensure traceability and tests.
