Job summary

A commercial clean energy solutions provider in Rockford, Illinois is looking for a BESS / Microgrid Engineer to design and optimize advanced energy systems across their project portfolio. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in battery energy storage, power systems, and microgrids, with at least 4 years of relevant experience. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and contributes to the development of resilient energy infrastructure aligned with long-term performance objectives.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in energy storage, microgrids, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and grid-interactive infrastructures.
• Familiarity with NEC and utility coordination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design of energy storage systems and microgrid architectures.
• Develop performance models for energy systems and evaluate operational strategies.
• Partner with Sales and Development teams to ensure technical feasibility.
