Job summary

Strata Clean Energy is seeking a skilled field technician to perform operations and maintenance of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and associated balance‑of‑plant. You will work under supervision to independently execute preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose faults across electrical, controls, and SCADA systems, and maintain CMMS documentation.

Role requires reading electrical schematics, using test equipment, and potentially performing switching as qualified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in utility-scale PV, BESS, substations, or equivalent industrial electrical/power systems.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E, NESC, and MV safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read electrical drawings/schematics and OEM manuals.
• Proficiency with test equipment and CMMS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, PPE) and promote a safety culture.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on BESS equipment and balance-of-plant.
• Diagnose electrical, controls, and SCADA faults with test equipment and OEM tools; verify repairs.
• Conduct medium-high voltage switching only when qualified under the site program.
• Interpret schematics and OEM manuals for troubleshooting and planning.
• Maintain CMMS records, work orders, and service reports; assist entry-level technicians.
