Job summary

Gridworks is seeking an O&M BESS Field Technician to support utility-scale battery energy storage systems across multiple sites. This hands-on role emphasizes safety-first operations and independent work across Albuquerque-area sites to ensure reliable grid performance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of BESS or industrial electrical experience, strong troubleshooting skills for PCS, inverters, and BMS, and is proficient with SCADA systems and LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with utility-scale BESS, energy storage systems, or industrial electrical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PCS, inverters, and BMS
• Electrical safety training aligned with NFPA 70E requirements; ability to work safely near energized equipment
• Experience with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for electrical isolation

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on utility-scale BESS assets, including battery storage containers, PCS, inverters, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, BMS alarms, and inverter issues to minimize downtime.
• Interface with SCADA and BESS management systems to access data and support troubleshooting in the field.
• Coordinate with OEM and warranty teams to support maintenance activities and warranty claims.
