Job summary

Sunrock Distributed Generation is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering for its growing portfolio of battery energy storage projects across the US.

You will oversee design from origination through commissioning, work with EPCs, equipment suppliers, utilities, and consultants to ensure technical soundness, viability, and execution readiness.

The role emphasizes engineering standardization, scalable processes, and strong technical leadership as Sunrock scales its storage platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in BESS, DG, or related energy infra.
• Strong understanding of power systems, interconnection, protection.
• Experience with EPCs, OEMs, utilities, and consultants.
• Familiarity with PVsyst or PV/BESS modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across a distributed generation BESS portfolio.
• Develop engineering strategies and best practices for project execution.
• Manage internal resources and external engineering consultants.
• Review electrical studies and mitigate technical risks during development.
• Coordinate detailed design through IFC and support procurement/construction.
