Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Zero to two years of experience; internships, co-ops, or academic projects involving grid-scale BESS or renewable energy preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D for conceptual site layout development.
• Exposure to GIS software, spatial datasets, and coordinate systems is desirable.
• Foundational understanding of BESS power and energy sizing principles and development-stage design considerations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Eagerness to learn, take direction, and grow within a collaborative engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual BESS site layouts using AutoCAD Civil3D, including battery blocks, inverters, equipment pads, access roads, and supporting infrastructure.
• Define buildable areas by evaluating environmental constraints, setbacks, easements, grading limitations, and local ordinances.
• Support BESS system sizing based on OEM specifications, energy market needs, interconnection constraints, and project objectives.
• Prepare PDF drawing packages and engineering documentation, tracking assumptions, design iterations, and project status across multiple projects.
• Translate GIS, survey, and constraint data into CAD-ready design inputs for early-stage feasibility studies.
• Provide technical support for BESS project development under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
