Job summary

Irby Construction Company, a subsidiary of Quanta Services, is seeking a Superintendent for Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will supervise field crews, coordinate civil, structural, electrical, and controls work, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence from mobilization through energization and turnover.

The role requires 6+ years in construction with BESS or related projects, strong leadership, and OSHA/ NFPA training.

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) years of relevant construction/craft experience with at least two (2) years in a field supervisory role; utility-scale BESS, substation, renewable energy, or complex EPC experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of BESS construction processes: civil, structural, electrical, controls, QA/QC, and commissioning.
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, NFPA 70E training required or obtainable within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned crews and foremen; coordinate daily field construction across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and controls scopes.
• Organize crews and assign foremen to work based on priorities and plan.
• Monitor safety, quality, production, and schedule adherence in active work areas.
• Generate daily manpower, equipment, and tooling requirements; coordinate transfers as needed.
• Maintain superintendent reports, time sheets, job briefings, production records, and equipment usage records.
• Lead or participate in weekly foreman meetings and required Owner/project meetings.
