Job summary

Ulteig seeks a Renewables Civil Designer – BESS to support land development of battery energy storage systems nationwide. You will collaborate with civil, structural, and electrical design teams and clients to deliver innovative design solutions for BESS projects across the country.

The role emphasizes AutoCAD Civil 3D road layouts, mass site grading, earthwork takeoffs, stormwater and erosion control plans. A 6–8 year civil engineering background and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 6–8 years of progressive civil engineering experience; 3–4+ yrs in large land development projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
• Authorized to work permanently in the US.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project engineer to complete detailed civil design solutions.
• Apply industry design standards on development projects and coach others.
• Address potential design issues proactively.
• Help develop and refine design and drafting standards for projects.
• Practice efficiency engineering in design selection.
• Coordinate with other engineering technicians and engineers.
• Design primarily in AutoCAD Civil 3D with emphasis on road layout, mass site grading, earthwork takeoffs, stormwater and erosion control plans.
• Demonstrate creativity and independence.
• Communicate effectively with clients to meet their needs.
• Work with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
