Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Cabinet Designer to create detailed blueprints that reflect client preferences and safety standards. The role requires coordinating with clients and contractors to ensure designs meet functional and aesthetic goals while complying with local building codes.

The candidate will leverage design tools to draft layouts, select finishes, and guide projects from concept to completion, ensuring accuracy in documentation and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and some sales experience.
• At least 4 years of cabinet designing experience.
• Familiar with design and visualization tools such as 2020 or Cabinet Vision.
• Experience with kitchens/other builds and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Active listening and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse budgets and client visions.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients to ascertain the functions and appearance of each space.
• Anticipating and informing clients of additional features which may be useful.
• Consider placement of water and electrical systems to ensure safety.
• Create a plan detailing layout and appearance of installations and furniture.
• Suggest appropriate materials and finishes.
• Assist clients to select and supervise the work of independent contractors.
• Inform clients about proper cabinet care.
• Keep records of hours and activities for accurate billing.
• Observe prescribed building and safety regulations.
