Job summary

Dorado seeks meticulous Bengali annotators to create structured, region-bound maps of Bengali documents. You will bound each meaningful region, assign types and read-order, and faithfully transcribe content in Bengali script, including handwritten text.

Meticulous attention to diacritics and orthography is essential. Responsibilities include sourcing publicly accessible Bengali PDFs, recording metadata, and ensuring every task passes senior review.

Qualifications

• Native Bengali speaker with full command of Bengali script and orthography.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, proofreading or data review.

Responsibilities

• Source Bengali PDFs for annotation tasks.
• Identify and bound page regions (title, heading, paragraph, list, table, etc.).
• Record relationships between regions and their parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe all Bengali text exactly as in the source, marking illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables/handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work in a second expert review.
