Job summary

BGF Industries in Danville, VA is seeking a Benefits & Talent Development Specialist to administer and manage employee benefits programs and help grow the workforce while ensuring regulatory compliance. The position also supports talent development, LMS activities, performance processes, and continuous program improvements with a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration or related field.
• 3-5 years in corporate, self-insured benefits administration.
• 3 years in talent development.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Proficient in Word, Excel (Pivot Tables), PowerPoint; HRIS utilization.

Responsibilities

• Administer health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement and other benefit programs and communicate options and changes clearly.
• Coordinate open enrollment and ensure employees have information to decide.
• Process new hire benefit enrollments and changes (status updates, qualifying events, terminations).
• Work with third-party vendors and insurance providers to ensure data accuracy and review invoices.
• Serve as primary contact for benefits inquiries and resolve coverage issues.
• Ensure plans comply with ACA, ERISA and HIPAA; file required reports.
• Maintain benefits documentation per legal requirements and review programs annually.
• Assist with HR tasks and special projects; stay current on industry trends.
• Provide LMS support and help with talent development program improvements.
