Job summary

BBSI is seeking an Employee Benefits Consultant to guide and support business-owner clients and internal teams with our master benefits program. You will balance account management with new client acquisition, collaborating with branches, underwriters, and operations to drive benefits adoption and client success.

The role requires deep knowledge of benefit plans, strong presentation and communication skills, and the ability to work across multi-million-dollar business units.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on employee benefits experience at a benefits brokerage or general agency.
• Thorough understanding of employee benefits principles and practices, including laws and regulations at the state and federal level, product and market-specific familiarity.
• Ability to develop and maintain deep knowledge of master plan contracts, carrier partnerships, competitors, plan limitations and exclusions, internal processes, underwriting requirements, and compliance considerations.
• Excellent facilitation skills and ability to write, develop, and deliver successful presentations and trainings to all levels.

Responsibilities

• Partner with branches, clients, and brokers to create tailored benefits packages and programs.
• Provide strategic guidance, training, and support to clients, worksite employees, and internal teams.
• Onboard and implement benefit plans, ensuring compliance and smooth adoption.
• Manage a portfolio of client relationships, driving new business development and client satisfaction.
• Travel up to 25% during peak periods to support clients and prospects.
