Job summary

Calumet, headquartered in Indianapolis, seeks a Benefits Specialist to support the Benefits and Compensation Manager with benefit administration including 401k, medical, dental and disability plans. Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Business, Human Resources, or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in Benefits or HR field preferred.
• Must be proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assists with annual open enrollment period during Q4.
• Assists with distribution of materials from carriers and communicates changes to employees.
• Processes benefit changes and elections within HRIS.
• Processes monthly billings from insurance providers.
• Reviews billings for accuracy, codes and advances for payment.
• Resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll, and the company.
• Completes reports for management as requested.
• Acts as liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters relationships with client representatives.
• Acts as a resource for Field HR contacts to ensure understanding and compliance with Benefit and HR policies.
• Keeps management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
