Job summary

LHH US in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a Benefits Specialist to administer and support our comprehensive benefits programs and serve as a trusted resource for employees and management.

This role coordinates with vendors and HR leadership, handles enrollments, leaves, and reporting, and ensures compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA while promoting employee wellness and engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of benefits administration or HR experience.
• Knowledge of benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
• Experience with HRIS platforms and benefits systems (Workday/UKG/ADP, etc.).
• Strong communication, organization, and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
• Serve as the primary resource for employee benefits inquiries and guidance on options and eligibility.
• Process benefit enrollments, life events, changes, terminations, and annual open enrollment.
• Maintain accurate benefits records within HRIS and benefits platforms.
• Coordinate with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party admins to resolve issues.
• Assist employees with leave administration (FMLA, ADA, other leave).
• Conduct benefits orientations and educate employees on programs and resources.
• Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and assist with payroll deductions and audits.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA; support wellness initiatives.
• Generate reports and analyze benefits utilization for HR decisions.
• Assist with plan renewals, benchmarking, and vendor management.
