MetLife, the nation’s leading provider of group benefits, invites you to join its Group Benefits Sales organization in Tempe, AZ. The Sales Trainee program blends classroom learning with on-the-job training to build expertise in employee benefits and professional selling skills.

Successful completion leads to an account executive role with mentoring and growth opportunities. You will develop proficiency in disability, dental, life, auto & home, and other voluntary benefits while collaborating

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MetLife and the industry including brokers, customers, and competitive landscape.
• Ability to obtain Life, Accident and Health, and Property & Casualty licenses.
• Willingness to relocate prior to, and upon completion of, the program.
• 0-5 years of related work experience.
• Ability to travel and drive to meetings with internal and/or external partners.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and complete the Sales Academy Program which includes trainings led by subject matter experts across Group Benefits.
• Support the sales office by meeting with brokers or customers, making cold calls, conducting enrollment meetings or benefit fairs, providing post-sale service and interaction with clients, and assisting the account executives with their territories.
• Build sales competencies - including communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
• Develop an understanding of the Group Benefits products and services - including Disability, Dental, Life, Auto & Home, MetLife Legal, and Critical Illness.
• Work effectively with a seasoned sales professional who serves as a mentor in educating the trainee to the various product and services offered by MetLife.
• Ability to use approved AI tools to support routine tasks such as drafting, summarizing, organizing information and improving day-to-day efficiency.
• Working knowledge of AI capabilities with the ability to evaluate and validate outputs with guidance.
