Job summary

York County, VA's HR Department seeks a Benefits Administrator to manage day-to-day administration of county benefits programs and retirement processes. You will handle open enrollments, vendor communications, COBRA, FMLA, and data reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely responses to employee inquiries.

Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience required; strong communication, analytical skills, and knowledge of Virginia benefit plans a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience administering employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and life.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to respond to inquiries.
• Knowledge of Virginia Retirement System (VRS) and COBRA processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administers benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, and other plans.
• Oversees open enrollments and data transfers with vendors and payroll.
• Responds to employee questions about benefits and retirement options.
• Manages COBRA, FMLA, and disability programs; assists with compliance reporting.
• Prepares reports and reconciliations of enrollment and retirement data.
