Our client is a private research university in Washington, DC, serving approximately 2,900 faculty members, staff, and retirees. The organization is seeking additional Benefits team support ahead of its annual Open Enrollment period.
Job Description:
Addison Group is hiring a Benefits Analyst on behalf of our client to provide hands-on support for employee benefits administration, customer inquiries, and Open Enrollment activities. This role will work closely with the Benefits team to help ensure benefits questions are addressed accurately and efficiently while supporting ongoing HR initiatives.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, comfortable working with sensitive benefits information, and able to manage a high volume of requests in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to a high volume of benefits-related questions through email, phone, and an HR ticketing platform, ensuring requests are handled accurately and within appropriate timeframes.
- Assist employees, faculty, staff, and retirees with questions and issues involving health and welfare plans, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, leave programs, and other benefits.
- Help coordinate and execute annual Open Enrollment activities, including employee communications, education, and enrollment support.
- Provide administrative assistance related to retirement plans and help maintain compliance with applicable program requirements.
- Research complex or unfamiliar benefits questions and collaborate with internal resources to identify appropriate solutions.
- Escalate issues that may affect a broader employee population and communicate trends or concerns to Benefits leadership.
- Compile, review, and interpret benefits-related information and data to assist with reporting, analysis, and planning.
- Help develop and maintain FAQs, resources, and consistent responses to frequently requested benefits information.
- Support new-hire benefits enrollment and other ongoing benefits administration initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvements designed to enhance the employee experience and efficiency of benefits administration.
Qualifications:
- Approximately 2 years of experience in benefits administration, Human Resources, or a closely related area preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Workday, ServiceNow, or a comparable HRIS/ticketing system.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling employee information and benefits transactions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work independently when researching solutions.
- Resourceful problem-solver who can navigate unfamiliar questions and identify appropriate answers.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and remain organized in a busy, high-volume environment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Additional Details:
- Start date: ASAP
- Contract assignment runs through January.
- One-and-done panel interview process.
- Additional onsite support is required leading into the annual Open Enrollment period.
- No time off during the first two weeks of November due to the Open Enrollment period.
- Confirmation of references on file — our client will complete the reference confirmation.
- Overtime may be available at the discretion of the supervisor.
