Job summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a temporary HR specialist to support employee inquiries, benefits administration, and leave management. You will guide staff through plan options, explain enrollment details, and help ensure compliant, efficient HR operations.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, multi-channel prioritization, and the ability to translate complex policy language for a broad audience.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of benefits administration, FMLA/ADA, workers' compensation and payroll processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex inquiries using policies and resources.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to translate policy language for broad audiences.
• Strong organizational skills to balance multiple inquiry streams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve routine to complex employee inquiries via phone, email and case systems.
• Administer employee health, welfare and leave programs and guide through plan requirements.
• Explain plan options and enrollment details clearly to enable informed decisions.
• Prioritize queues, analyze cases and suggest improvements to HR operations.
