Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a Benefits Administrator to oversee ADA accommodations, FMLA leaves, and CCPS employee benefits for employees and retirees.

Responsibilities include administering health/dental/vision insurance, COBRA, and VRS retirement processing, while counseling employees, retirees, and beneficiaries. Strong HR knowledge, confidentiality, and communication skills are essential, with a focus on compliance and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge or willingness to learn about HR policies and procedures, retirement benefits, health and dental insurance plans, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, Medicare eligibility, and other related laws and regulations.
• Ability to understand, evaluate, and make judgment on RFPs.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to all levels of personnel in confidential situations.
• Any combination of education, training, and work experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and administers ADA workplace accommodations and processes accommodation requests.
• Oversees and administers FMLA and other CCPS leave programs and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Administers employee insurance programs including health, dental, life, disability, and vision for employees and retirees.
• Administers COBRA benefits and related communications.
• Administers VRS retirement processing and computes retirement options.
• Provides responsive customer service to employees and retirees regarding CCPS benefits.
• Maintains records and reporting required by laws and policies.
• Conducts counseling sessions for prospective retirees and explains policies.
