Job summary

Hart County Charter System is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to oversee daily benefits administration for all district personnel, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs. You will conduct benefits orientations, manage Open Enrollment, and liaise with third-party vendors.

The role requires strong regulatory interpretation, excellent communication, and a focus on confidentiality, with the ability to stay current on ACA, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience in HR or benefits administration, especially in K-12.
• Ability to read and analyze complex laws and compliance.
• Excellent communication and confidentiality handling.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily benefits administration across health, dental, vision, life, disability, paid/unpaid leave, and retirement plans.
• Conduct benefits orientations and Open Enrollment; liaise with third-party vendors.
• Ensure ACA, DOL, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, and HIPAA compliance across the district.
• Manage district leave processing and time/attendance tracking.
• Assist Payroll with monthly billing reconciliations and notices.
• Draft and recommend district-wide benefits and leave policies.
• Serve as primary contact for staff inquiries regarding benefits and leave policy.
• Stay updated on evolving employment laws and retirement mandates.
