Job summary

Village of Elk Grove is hiring a Benefits Technician to support employee and retiree benefits programs and related HR functions. The role works with the Benefits/Risk Coordinator and HR Director to process transactions, maintain confidential records, and assist employees and retirees with inquiries.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree and at least two years of office experience, plus proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; two years of office experience.
• Background in Benefits, HR and/or Risk Management desirable.
• Proficient with software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administration of employee and retiree benefit programs (enrollments, life events, changes, terminations).
• Maintain accurate benefit records in HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems.
• Provide guidance to employees, retirees and dependents on eligibility and enrollment.
