Job summary

The University of North Carolina in Charlotte seeks a Benefits Consultant Generalist to provide cross-functional support across LOA, retirement processing, onboarding and offboarding, and benefits administration.

You will handle high-volume inquiries, ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies, and collaborate with Employee Relations and internal partners to maintain timely, accurate records throughout the employment lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years HR benefits experience, or equivalent combo.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Responsibilities

• Leave of Absence (LOA) responsibilities including eligibility review, forms, and system entries.
• Retirement consultation and benefit calculations for multiple plans.
• Onboarding / offboarding support and benefit elections processing.
• General benefits tasks and policy interpretation, open enrollment support, and HR Connect cases.
