Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is hiring a Benefits and Eligibility Specialist (Eligibility Interviewer) for the Buckeye Field Office. This on-site role supports Arizonans applying for Nutrition, Medical, and Cash Assistance, with training provided and a focus on accurate, empathetic client interactions.

Responsibilities include interviewing clients, determining eligibility, data entry, and maintaining service levels while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Eligibility interviews in a fast-paced office environment.
• Experience with computer systems and data entry.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in-person or by telephone.
• Attend paid classroom training with on-the-job training.
• Provide excellent customer service to individuals and families.
• Conduct interviews to determine eligibility for Medical/Nutrition/Cash Assistance.
• Enter data on a computer and navigate multiple screens.
• Adhere to agency standards and timeliness.
