Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits D&A Team Lead to join our Portland, OR office. The role supervises at least two full-time teammates and sets annual goals for the Data & Analytics team within Employee Benefits.

The Lead will coordinate with Account Managers, Producers/Consultants and carriers to ensure clear communication and documented meeting summaries. The position requires leadership, strong knowledge of group health and welfare benefits, and the ability to negotiate renewals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) with three years of experience in Employee Benefits Administration, or high school with five years of related experience
• Solid knowledge of group health and welfare benefit plan coverage, current regulations, and pricing
• Fluent with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Word, and Excel
• Ability to learn agency management websites quickly
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Leads financial consulting for assigned book of business and department; independently evaluates financial and utilization metrics for customers
• Coach, train, and develop teammates
• Supervise day-to-day performance, workload, and attendance issues for D&A team
• Provide feedback to D&A teammates and foster growth through measurable goals
• Manage customer assignments to D&A team
• Leverage market, coverage, and financial expertise to negotiate renewals and propose appropriate insurance solutions
• Oversee financial reports and client deliverables from D&A teammates and lead training for these reports
• Participate in client meetings to present financial strategy and expectations, including preparing reports for meetings
• Establish and manage professional relationships with carrier partners and internal resources
• Occasional local travel to visit customers or prospects
