Job summary

Graybar in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to manage and optimize Total Rewards programs, including pension, profit sharing, student loan reimbursement, and other employee benefits. This role supports employees, retirees, and vendors, ensuring accurate data, timely responses, and compliant processes.

The ideal candidate has 3 years in benefits coordination, strong Excel skills, and experience with Workday/HRIS.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in benefit coordination and customer service.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4-5 years’ experience: prior company experience preferred.
  • Four-year degree preferred; familiarity with Workday/HRIS beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end administration of Total Rewards programs including pension and other benefits.
  • Serve as primary contact for employees, managers, and vendors; respond to inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT to manage operations and data integrity.
  • Perform data analysis, reporting, and ensure accurate benefits setup and delivery.

Job description

Are you ready?As a Benefits Coordinator, you will maintain and oversee benefits related data, processes, escalations, and file feed management. The position goes beyond traditional health & welfare benefits to include retirement programs (pension, profit sharing), financial wellness offerings (student loan reimbursement), charitable giving initiatives, and other employee-centric rewards programs. Provide support and assistance to employees, former employees, retirees, surviving dependents, and their legal representatives and peers relating to all Company benefits and employee programs within the Total Rewards department.In this role you will:Support end-to-end administration of Total Rewards programs, including pension, profit sharing, charitable contributions, student loan reimbursement, and other employee benefit offerings.Serve as a primary point of contact for employees, managers, and vendors—responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing clear, timely communication across all levels of the organization.Partner with internal teams (HR, Payroll, Finance, IT) and external vendors to manage program operations, troubleshoot escalations, and ensure seamless service delivery.Work with IT and Corporate HR to revolve issues.Work with IT to test and resolve any file feed issues.Analyze and reconcile vendor data and invoices by running reports, leveraging Excel to manipulate and validate data, identifying discrepancies, and driving resolution through to payment.Conduct benefit calculations and validations (e.g., pension), coordinate communications, and ensure accurate setup and delivery of program benefits.Maintain and audit system data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment across platforms.Create and maintain process documentation while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance the employee experience.Contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen Total Rewards programs and operational efficiency.Support training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the team; participate in quality assurance activities such as peer audits (e.g., pension calculations, data reviews).Perform advanced benefits administration functions, including oversight of file feed management, resolution of escalated issues, audit execution, and complex reporting and data analysis.What you bring to the table:3 years’ experience: Benefit coordination and customer serviceHigh school diploma or GED4-5 years’ experience: Prior Company experience PreferredFour-year degree PreferredKnowledge of the Company's policies and proceduresKnowledge of Workday and HRISKnowledge of benefits and employee programs within Total Rewards, including pensionStrong verbal and written communication skillsCustomer service skillsAdvanced Microsoft Office Suite skillsAdvanced research and problem-solving skillsAbility to multitaskAbility to prioritize and meet deadlinesWork Shift and Hours: Part-time, 20 hour per week, in office with a flexible schedule during normal business hours.Compensation Details: The expected pay rate for this position is $26.00 per hour.Working ConditionsOffice environment.This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals occupying this position of employment.
