Job summary

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Benefits and Compensation Specialist to join our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. You will administer and support the organization's benefits and compensation programs, ensuring accurate benefit administration, payroll alignment, and HR compliance while serving as a key resource for staff and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2–3 years benefits and compensation administrative experience.
• SHRM Certification preferred.
• Experience with HRIS and HR reports. UKG preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
• Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.
• If using a personal vehicle to drive for work purposes, CA driver license and auto insurance in compliance with CA vehicle code.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain all benefit related changes in HRIS (new hire enrollments, qualifying events, retirement changes).
• Conduct benefits audits and reconcile enrollment data for accuracy and data integrity in HRIS.
• Maintain benefit forms (election forms, surveys).
• Audit and process benefit invoices (medical, dental, vision, EAP, life insurance).
• Support annual renewal process and communicate changes to employees (eligibility, coverage, provisions).
• Coordinate Open Enrollment module updates with provider data and premiums to ensure accurate deductions.
• Facilitate benefits presentations during New Hire Enrollment onboarding.
• Support retirement plans (401(k) and 457) ensuring COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA compliance.
• Provide support during audits with TPA and auditors for Form 5500.
• Ensure timely filing of Form 5500 for Health and Wellness and Retirement Plan.
• Update and maintain SOPs related to benefits and compensation.
